The Finance Department administers the financial affairs of the Town of Ramseur under direction of the Town Clerk who also serves as Finance Director. The Finance Director’s responsibilities include investing all Town funds, maintaining accounting and financial records, billing and collecting all Town monies, maintaining an encumbrance system for purchasing, processing accounts payable, preparing biweekly payrolls, assisting with preparation of the annual budget, issuing and collecting privilege license fees, and performing other related projects.

As of July 1, 2015, the property tax rate in the Town of Ramseur is .67 per $100 of property valuation. The Town contracts with the Randolph County Tax Department for collection of Town taxes, providing property owners with the convenience of receiving a single bill from Randolph County which includes both Town of Ramseur and Randolph County taxes.
