Protecting Our Community

The Ramseur Police Department has expanded greatly from the time the first officer was hired around 1923. Ramseur’s first Chief of Police, L.A. Kelly was hired in 1935 when the department was housed at 1537 Main Street. From the Main Street location, the Department relocated in 1978 to offices in the new Municipal Building.

After acquiring the former bank building at the corner of Main and Liberty Streets, the Town completed Renovations and the Department once again relocated in 2003 to 741 Liberty Street upstairs. In August of 2019 the Police Department once again moved to its present location in the Old PNC Bank Building located at 1507 Main Street after the town purchased the building from PNC Bank.
